On the (book)mark

Inspired by their love of literary greats, the bride and groom wanted to reflect a bit of their passion for reading in the design of their wedding. As the invitation tends to act as an introduction of the wedding look and feel, we created a bookmark invitation to announce this theme. With one side in English and the other in German, each guest's name was written on the invitation. Grey and white striped twine adorned the invitation and a grey envelope lined in a pop of orange completed the invitation suite.

A modern invite

With the wedding taking place in a rural location, the couple were eager to incorporate modern touches to their wedding day. The invitation suite announced this aesthetic and featured a graphic leaf pattern as a gentle nod to the location and decor and the combination of fonts gave an overall contemporary feel. The suite was letterpressed and featured a custom logo that used throughout the wedding decor.

Around the world

With backgrounds that span many locations, this couple wanted to highlight areas around the world that held a special place in their hearts. Each location held a lovely story and was featured through the creation of a bespoke map. This folded invitation featured a navy script on the front and the custom map on the back to share their own personal story with their guests.

A pretty parcel

This invitation suite was full of the couples’ personalities, incorporated a bit texture and featured a lovely colour palette of muted tones that complimented each other so nicely. Inspired by the couples’ nicknames for each other, a logo treatment of a bunny and bear was featured throughout the invitation suite in various forms. Their initials were used throughout the suite and sat alongside a selection of fonts that felt a bit modern, with a touch of formality and loads of personal touches. The entire wedding invitation suite, which included a double sided invitation, an RSVP postcard, a double-sided pre-wedding party and an info card, was wrapped in twine and finished with a tag featuring their initials.

A modern invite

Have a look at a recent wedding invitation which incoporated an elegant font and adornment set against a modern use of colour and pattern. The use of letterpress gave it the perfect modern-vintage feel.

A touch of gold

Taking inspiration from the stunning location of the wedding, this invitation and rehearsal dinner invite introduced the feel of the wedding weekend. This folded invitation featured the couple’s name encased by a decorative border, while the inside invited each guest to join in the celebrations in a traditional script. Both invitations were foil blocked in metallic ink which gave the wedding suite a lovely pop. Each envelope was hand-addressed by Christopher Austin and featured a contrasting colour for an added punch.

Flights of fancy

In first meeting with the lovely bride and groom to be, it became clear quite quickly that they were wanting to create a design just a bit different from the norm. Incorporating bits of traditional formatting with some whimsical adornments and modern font choices gave the design of this invitation suite the modern mix the couple was looking for. The wedding suite was comprised of the invitation, RSVP card and envelope, outer envelope with wrap-around address labels and pre-wedding celebration invitation and they resulted in the perfect mix of modern vintage.

Wedding invitation

Incorporating the couple's Indian and Jewish heritage, this intricate wedding suite was inspired by a traditional henna pattern. The pattern surrounded a Jewish star to symbolise the joining of the two cultures. Over the course of the wedding weekend, four events marked a different joyous occasion. A different tier of the design invited the guest to a specific event, with the pattern changing colour throughout. The RSVP card and envelope completed the suite, which were all encased in a bespoke pocket, made from gold fabric to add a pop of colour when the recipient opened the envelope.

Save the Date

Mediterranean-inspired colour palettes are a fave here at R&J so imagine our delight when Jennifer came to us with visions of teals and blues dancing in her head. With the help of the peacock, this Save the Date design gives the guests a sneak peak into the aesthetic of the entire wedding. Stay tuned for more colour happiness...

The Royal Invite

Check that post box: the Royal Wedding invitations are in the post. While ours hasn't arrived yet, we saw a sneak peak online and sadly felt slightly let down by the design. Perhaps we were hoping for a bit more of a celebratory announcement...it is the Royal Wedding invitation after all! Assumingly in accordance to the Royal family's stationery design, the invitation is decorated in gold writing and emblazed with a matching insignia of William's 
grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, in whose name the invitation is sent. The edges of the invitation were beveled and gilded. Regardless of the design, we'll still keep our fingers crossed hoping the invitation is on its way to us soon.

Wedding invitation suite

Very much wanting to evoke a Britannia Jubilee feel, this wedding invitation suite was created by incorporating whimsical elements and a modern approach to a traditional invitation. A bespoke crest was created using their first initials and was carried throughout the suite. A hand-drawn bespoke map was created to help navigate through the streets of London. Bold use of colour and strong graphic elements were carried through the invitation, information card and reception items. The design of the table numbers and seating plan were inspired by traditional bunting and given a modern approach. Sweet sayings were featured along the back of the seating cards reminding each guest of the love shared between the bride and groom.

Rosy rapture

We were called upon by Brides Magazine to create a wedding invitation suite with a punch. The use of pink, cream and black was the focus, along with playful and bold elements to allow this invitation suite to stand out from the norm. Playful stripes, whimsical borders and typographic elements were incorporated across the invitation, menus, place cards and monogramed flags. The March/April issue is finally out and we were so excited to see the various designs scattered along the pages. Have a peek for yourself...

Wedding Invite Set

A truly unique wedding invite set allowed the bride and groom to incorporate their Jewish heritage, while keeping the look and feel of the invite set modern with the use of pattern, ornamentation and colour.
