A lovely Christmas present

Christmas has come early here at R+J. Check out our feature in House & Garden's January issue...

Christmas Countdown!

After many hours shopping and wandering around countless shops, some Christmas decor can begin to blur into a swirl of colours and textures. R + J has compiled it's favourite and most inspiring windows of the Christmas season. Barneys New York took on a Have a Foodie Holiday window theme, where Simon Doonan created the display out of Illycaffe espresso tins, cans, paper cups, and paper bags. Most paper-crafty impressive was the elaborate ballgown worn by a coffee-sipping mannequin. Carrying on the paper-craft theme were the windows at Tiffany's who portrayed a Christmas love story that would make even the largest Scrooge smile. Liberty of London embarked on a voyage into an Enchanted Forest filled with lovely accessories and beautiful things alike. Never to disappoint, was DvF New York spread the Christmas cheer by inviting customers to display their idea of love. Kate Spade showcased it's love of colour by adorning windows with vibrant displays of beautiful gifts. With so many creative displays, it's hard to pick a favourite window this year!

A very happy birthday

For a special birthday celebration (the big 3-0!), this invite was created to document important chapters in the birthday girl's life. The result created a 3-D time line of sorts with adorable photos to lead the way down memory lane.

Dark and lovely

With Halloween drawing near and the full moon casting its glow over the night's sky, there is a certain chill in the air that signifies the season's have changed. Hues get deeper, nighttime feels longer and clothes get cozier. Here are few recent shots we've gathered of all things dark and lovely, along with a new notecard design to match the mood at the moment.

A bit bespoke

Customised stationery is all the rage here at R+J. Each bespoke notecard is created to reflect a bit of the sender's style. A few recent designs have included hand-lined envelopes to add a nice pop of pattern when the receiver opens the notecard. Have a sneak peek at a few of our recent favs.

Home is where the heart is

As the days grow shorter and Autumn is officially upon us, it's hard not to want to hibernate under cozy blankets and catch up with your favourite magazines and television shows. Celebrate a friend's recent move with a new design by R+J and a bottle of wine to make the new house feel like a cozy home.

A stroll in the Park Güell

It is always inspiring to roam the streets of a city other than your home town. The people, the sights, the culture and colours all seem to add a certain element to your visit. During a recent weekend in Barcelona, nothing seemed more inspiring than wandering around Park Güell, an influential and colourful Gaudi creation. Gaudi was strongly influenced by the shapes of nature and often referenced them in his works. The multi-coloured mosaics found throughout the park add texture and stunning colour as you overlook the city of Barcelona beneath. Inspired by our visit to the Park, R+J created a mosaic-tiled notecard, hand-stitched along the top, allowing a message to be written inside.

Judging a book

We've always been told not to judge a book by its cover, but its hard to resist after viewing these beautiful cover designs by Coralie Bickford-Smith. Bringing to life the Art Deco feel of the F. Scott Fitzgerald classics makes us instantly want to curl up with the entire series. And such a lovely addition to the bookshelves.

A vision of Bleu

We here at R+J have to admit that we are a bit obsessed over the new Bleu de Chanel short film directed by Martin Scorsese. And what's not to love? The blue-soaked colour palate, the gorgeous patterns featured within the film or the chic newsletter Le Tribune specially created for the fragrance launch celebrating all things blue. After watching the film for the umpteenth time, it has inspired some new notecard designs.

Fashion's Night Out

Tonight is Fashion's Night Out here in London, but before we head out to partake in the festivities, we had to share this year's tote bag. Created by the very talented illustrator Sanna Annukka, all proceeds go to Kids Company, a charity devoted to working with vulnerable inner-city children and young people. Not only is it a great cause, but a very chic way to tote around your valuable goods.

Lovely lettering

To celebrate a love of vintage typography, we've compiled a few of our favourite retro signs collected over the years. Even the simplest of typographic design looks lovely when such craftsmanship had gone into the design. Inspired by the simplistic designs of the past is a recent notecard design with a pop of colour found when the envelope is opened.
