Royal Wedding countdown

Celebrating the Royal Wedding outside of London can only be comforted by celebrating in America where all eyes are the royals. The early morning celebrations are everywhere, especially in New York where viewing parties and fancy dress parties are aplenty. In the words of Audrey Hepburn, "Paris is always a good idea." We spent a recent weekend roaming the streets of Paris and have returned to London feeling a bit more inspired. Below are a few snapshots from the weekend, along with a new notecard inspired by our wanders.

Celebrate in style

If your Royal Wedding invitation hasn't arrived just yet, perhaps it's time to make alternative plans. Celebrate the nuptials with a royal wedding bash of your own to rival Kate and Wills'. Invite your guests in style and encourage them to dress as their favourite royal. Put the champagne on ice and let the festivities begin!

Get the look

Inspired by the ballerina elegance of Nicole Richie and Joel Madden's wedding, this menu and place card was created. The use of black and gold added a bit of old world glamour and a decadent font adorned the designs. Even better, they can be seen on the pages of the May/June issue of Brides...

Wedding invitation

Incorporating the couple's Indian and Jewish heritage, this intricate wedding suite was inspired by a traditional henna pattern. The pattern surrounded a Jewish star to symbolise the joining of the two cultures. Over the course of the wedding weekend, four events marked a different joyous occasion. A different tier of the design invited the guest to a specific event, with the pattern changing colour throughout. The RSVP card and envelope completed the suite, which were all encased in a bespoke pocket, made from gold fabric to add a pop of colour when the recipient opened the envelope.

Save the Date

Mediterranean-inspired colour palettes are a fave here at R&J so imagine our delight when Jennifer came to us with visions of teals and blues dancing in her head. With the help of the peacock, this Save the Date design gives the guests a sneak peak into the aesthetic of the entire wedding. Stay tuned for more colour happiness...

Happy Spring

Spring has officially sprung. The contrast of yellow daffodils against a London backdrop is a lovely thing. Grey Monday mornings somehow feel more manageable with a pop of bright yellow.
